Bad Branch Falls are located in the Bad Branch Nature Preserve on Pine Mountain, 3 miles from Whitesburg, Kentucky. Bad Branch Falls is a 60-foot waterfall, and is the main Kentucky attraction of Bad Branch Gorge.
A strenuous 1-mile footpath leads to the falls. Hiking shoes are recommended. High Rock vantage point is another 2 miles away. The High Rock portion of the trail is very steep and somewhat dangerous due to the steep cliffs, and is not recommended for young children.
Bad Branch Nature Preserve is open from dawn to dusk, and there is no entrance fee, but camping is prohibited. Trash must be carried out, and the preserve is closed t vehicles. |
