Wilson Lake is one of the most scenic lakes in Kansas providing awesome entertainment for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether swimming, fishing or boating you have here some of the best water based recreation. Boating, sailing, water skiing, and swimming are popular activities here.

The lake has 9,100 acres of surface area making for a wonderful recreation spot. It offers great fun along its 100 miles of beautiful shoreline. Wilson State Park on the south side of the lake has five campgrounds. Primitive sites, electrical hookups and sanitary dump stations are available. There are some cabins available to rent with modern amenities as well. But you have to have your own bedding!
   
 
The camp areas include showers, boat-launching ramps, overnight camping pads, fresh water, picnic tables, grills, swim beaches, group shelters, sand volleyball courts, and playground equipment. Boaters can enjoy this large water body for water skiing and pleasure boating. Fishing in the calm waters here remains the top pleasure with abundant amounts of white bass, walleye, white perch, catfish, stripers and crappie.

There are two boat ramps on the state park side. The Hell Creek ramp is for large boats and has a handicap-accessible courtesy dock too. A marina provides boat and slip rentals, boat fuel among other conveniences. Amenities include a kid's fishing pond, playgrounds, a swimming beach, showerhouses and a modern fish cleaning station. Located 48 miles west of Salina, this huge reservoir is one of the prettiest and clearest lakes in the entire state of Kansas.

All you need to do is drive up 8 miles north on K-232 from I-70 Wilson exit and pay the requisite Park permit fee. Welcome to Lake Wilson and all its pleasures.
