Kansas beaches are exciting vacation destinations. All outdoor enthusiasts know it to be the home turf of nature lovers. This land locked state may not have large bodies of water within its boundaries. However there are plenty of small and medium-sized recreational lakes.
If you're into water sports, swimming, sailing, or even simply sight-seeing then you will enjoy Kansas water bodies. There are 24 reservoirs, thousands of ponds and 10,000 miles of fishing streams. Offering more than 200 square miles of water served by modern marinas and campgrounds, reservoirs range in size from 1,200 acres to 16,000 acres.
Most reservoirs are part of state parks with well-kept swimming beaches, picnic areas and campgrounds. Lakes and reservoirs offer visitors a variety of opportunities to rejuvenate on the waters. Kansas shorelines make water-based recreation a favorite outdoor activity. Take your pick:
