Palisades-Kepler State Park

Iowa Home | Iowa Sitemap
This park’s main facet is the Cedar River, a fish-rich wide body of water that winds its way through prehistoric lore-laden central Iowa. There are many accommodation options including early century log cabins built from native timber and stone. There also remains a hint of old mounds erected by the primary settlers in this region.

Hiking and mountain biking around the park (and state forest) can be interesting with the geological shifts and slightly rolling Iowa prairie fields. A vast amount of untouched Iowa wildlife remains here, including many wildflowers. Float slowly along the river for excellent fishing, the park offers several modern boat ramps for easy access.
