Maquoketa Caves are a prehistoric Iowa vacation site where several stone tools were found. Other features of this Iowa park include a natural bridge with a 5 meter arch and a cool balancing rock.
There are 12 Iowa caves at Maquoketa Caves: Dancehall Cave, Barbell Cave, Dug Out Cave, Hernando's Hideaway, Ice Cave, Match Cave, Rainy Day Cave, Shinbone Cave, Twin Arch Cave, Up-N-Down Cave, Wide Mouth Cave, Window Cave and Wye Cave. A 10 km system of trails links all the caves, with staircases to cave entrances on steep hillsides
