This trail runs along a stream of water that was formerly
out of commission. What once acted as home to various shipping franchises
was quickly forgotten about after times and methods changed.
Until recently, the old homes and subsequent communities along the canal
were basically forgotten about. Currently, with the addition of an interpretive
center and plans for a replica canal boat, the town of Delphi has found
itself becoming a prime tourist attraction.
The trails along the canal pass over streams on a variety of bridges
and come across old canal warehouses and homes, which were once very
common in this portion of Indiana.
Come experience the surviving splendor of Delphi and its proud manmade
canal. |
