Wyandotte Caves

Wyandotte Caves are 2 different developed caves. The smaller Little Wyandotte is suitable to visitors of all ages. It is also called New Cave or Siberts Cave after its discoverer.

The tour to Big Wyandotte also known as Historic Cave, just 200m away, are more impressive. This cave has lots of steps and visitors should wear appropriate shoes.

In Big Wyandotte’s Senate Chamber, a 45m long and 17m wide space, is a stalagmite called Pillar of the Constitution. The 10m high and 20m wide stalagmite definitely is very impressive! Highlights include the Rothrock's Grand Cathedral, a huge chamber with the Monument Mountain, an enormous pile of rocks fallen from the ceiling of the cavern and the rare helictites in Crater Room. It is also the home to the endangered Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis ) that hibernates in the cave.
