The Patoka lake is spread along 8800 acres, and the dam is located 12 miles northeast of Jasper on the Patoka River. The lake features a 1200 foot-long beach along with diving a tower, bathhouse and solar-heated showers.

On the Patoka beach you can enjoy from hunting and fishing to biking and camping. The beach has numerous paved bike trails. The trails vary from ½ to 6 ½ miles and are rated from moderate to rugged in difficulty. You have to bring your own bicycles, as there are no rentals. Here you can find a total of 559 campsites in three different campgrounds, all within 200 yards of the lake including 456,Class A sites with electric hookups, water fill, a store, modern restrooms, showers and a fish cleaning station.

Water sports is also a great way to recreate here. Water skiing, jet skiing, and tubing are just some of the fun you can do.

The beach features one of the largest campgrounds in the state of Indiana, the Patoka Lake Reservoir Recreation area. It provides nine boat ramps and state park facilities for visitors to enjoy. The state park area offers shelter houses, and playgrounds as well as a large beach for swimming or just relaxing the day away.
