Located in the mid-western region of the United States of America, Indiana is a diverse state. With a major population of nearly 6.3 million residents and Indianapolis as the state capital, Indiana ranks 17th in terms of population density.

Being bounded on most of its sides by a complete array of lakes and beaches, Indiana is popularly known as the 'Great Lakes State'. The river lines like, Kankakee River and Wabash River, contribute largely to the humid continental climate of this state. In fact, more than half of it's border is lined with water. While on one hand this serves as a port for major freight transportation, on the other the numerous beaches formed, prove to be popular destinations drawing thousands of tourists to this state every year. Not only do these beaches offer several exciting water sports activities, but they also house some of the most beautiful beach resorts and parks, that act as a special attraction for the tourists.
   
 

Indiana Dunes National LakeshoreLocated in northwest Indiana, is . Created way back in the year 1966, this lakeshore covers an area of nearly 15.067 acres.

Hulman BeachOne of the must visit beaches of Indiana, especially if you happen to visit this state during the summer season.

West BeachOne of the most popular sandy public beach near the Dunes National Lakeshore in Northwest Indiana, located at the southern tip of Lake Michigan.
