Illinois’ weather in can be quite extreme. During
the summer (June to August) temperatures can rise to as high as 90 degrees
F or higher, and the humidity is fairly high. In winter months (January
to March) it can be very damp and cold, between 12 degrees F and 29
degrees F, with frigid winds from Lake Michigan and regular snowfall.
Chicago has the dubious distinction of experiencing both these extremes
(but really isn’t as windy as its sobriquet implies). The most
pleasant months are May and September when the days are consistently
warm. |
