This is a relatively simple, shorter trail that connects
runs through the semi-small town of Cahokia. This town along the river
has a few historic buildings, which are worth a brief stop. Although
riverside towns are beautiful for the most part, it is difficult not
to get wrapped up in the natural phenomenon. The river seems eternal
and overwhelmingly powerful next to these historic settlements.
Anyway, if you’re into a fairly simple, painless, scenic weekend
hike, Metro-East is a nice walk through the woods. |
