Champaign is an interesting little stop-off with a variety
of attractions close at hand. The University of Illinois, a mainstay
in the world of college sports, provides the region with a youthful
sensibility. Various parks, campsites and wildlife preserves also exist
here, as well as museums, a performing arts center and various lively
nightlife spots.
Although not on culture’s cutting edge and not overwhelming by
any stretch, it is communities like these in central Illinois that America
has really grown into: quaint, smaller towns that are beautiful, regardless
of the season. And Champaign has just enough frills for you to cut loose
when you see fit.
