Sears Tower at night
The Sears Tower is the tallest building in the United States, and is officially listed as the 3rd tallest building in the world. The Sears Tower has 108 floors. The height of the structure is 1,451 feet, though the antenna give it a “tip height” greater than any skyscraper in the world (take that Petronas Twin Towers).

The Sears Tower Skydeck observation deck on the 103rd floor of the tower is one of the major Chicago tourist attractions. It soars 1,353 feet above Chicago’s streets, and on a good day the Chicagoland area is visible for more than 40 miles in any direction, even as far as over the great plains of Illinois and across Lake Michigan. It only takes about 45 seconds to reach the top in either of 2 special elevators. A secondary Skydeck on the 99th floor is used when the 103rd floor is closed. The entrance can be found on the south side of the Sears Tower on Jackson Boulevard.
