Navy Pier has long been one of the most popular Chicago tourist
attractions, and continues to offer a wide variety of activities,
including dining (ranging from concession stands to fine restaurants)
and entertainment (Navy Pier has 2 performance stages: the Bud
Light Stage for music and the Skyline Stage for theater), as well
as being a hub for tour boats from which one can see Chicago from
Lake Michigan.
The most famous feature of Navy Pier is its 150-foot tall Ferris
wheel, located near the musical carousel, which is painted with
historical depictions of the pier. Among its other attractions
are an 18-hole Chicago-themed miniature golf course, a climbing
structure, a Funhouse Maze and the Chicago Children’s Museum.
Navy Pier is also home to the 500-seat courtyard Chicago Shakespeare
Theater, an IMAX theater on Navy Pier, the Smith Museum of Stained
Glass, the 170,000 square-foot Festival Hall and much more.
