Scenic Tamarack
Tamarack is located 90 miles north of Boise, Idaho. This beautiful skiing area (the views at Tamarack are often likened to those at Tahoe) opens up in December. Below a 7,700-foot spot on West Mountain's ridge skiers can enjoy the sight of the 22-mile-long Lake Cascade stretching out in Long Valley.

Conditions here are almost made to order. Tamarack is fortunate enough to receive 300 inches of snow every year (100 more than Sun Valley) yet its location east of Oregon's high desert makes the powder perfectly dry. The skiing down the mountain's 2,800 vertical feet, among aspen and subalpine firs, and top-notch blue runs is sure to exhilarate any skier.

Tamarack is a perfect place for an Idaho skiing vacation. It has a year-round resort with over 2,000 chalets, condos, and hotel rooms, and all the amenities one could ask for.
