Information on Snowhaven Ski Area:

Snowhaven Ski Area, located just seven miles from Grangeville, Idaho, overlooks the beautiful Camas Prairie, the Nez Perce National Forest and the Gospel Hump Wilderness.

Two ski lifts serve more than 40 acres of snow-covered terrain, with slopes for beginner through advanced skiers.

he whole family can ski together, take lessons or ski with friends. PSIA-certified instructors and National Ski patrol ensure a safe, supervised environment for all ages.

Skiers can enjoy dry powder downhill slopes on skis and snowboards or relish in the peace and quiet of the groomed cross-country trails at nearby Fish Creek Meadows.

Special emphasis is given to the Snowhaven children's program. In addition to the regular ski school, there is a Snow Snorker Ski School for toddlers ages 3 to 6. Toys, tubes, sleds, books and games are part of the program, in addition to skiing. The program is available on an hourly or daily basis.

For cross-country skiers, Fish Creek Meadows offers double-tracked trails of one, three, four, five and seven miles.

An Idaho Department of Recreation Park 'n Ski sticker is required to use the plowed trailhead and parking lot.

A log cabin trail shelter with wood stove and large window is available for skiers on the Cabin Loop about three miles from Fish Creek. It provides a beautiful panorama of the Clearwater Mountains to the south.

The shelter is also accessible by trail from the top of Snowhaven Ski Area two miles north. This trail is not groomed, but is marked with blue diamonds.

Telemarkers can learn on the packed slopes at the ski area, then practice advanced techniques in the ungroomed areas. Telemarking rentals and lessons are available.

Adjacent to Fish Creek Meadows is the trailhead for snowmobilers to ride the old Milner Wagon Road, which once served the gold camps of Buffalo Hump and fabulous Florence in the late 1800's.

More than 100 miles of groomed snowmobile trails are maintained by the Sno-Drifters Snowmobile Club of Grangeville.

Snowhaven Ski Area is just seven miles from downtown Grangeville, which is 72 miles southeast of Lewiston on Highway 95. It is a full-service community, with plenty of motels, restaurants and shopping for visiting recreationalists.
