The Spokane River in Q'emiln Riverside Park has a sandy beach that offers the opportunity to make a quick dash for summertime getaways for enjoying swimming and boating. Located at the south bank of the river the sandy beach has a boat launch and group picnic facilities.
Besides the picnic areas, the public boat launch the beach has life guards on duty in summer months. Recreational
opportunities here are in a class of its own. The Lions Grand Pavilion at the park is the site of the Summer Concert Series and the annual Fiddle Fest.

Other than the beach you have the region's best rock climbing, long scenic hiking trails and popular white water kayak training at several locations. Its a fun location to swim and kayak from Additionally in late summer and early Fall it is a nice location for some sail yakking or even dinghy sailing.
Post Falls Pond is located right off of the Spokane River right next to the dam and water falls. This pond is not ideal for RC model sailing due to all the small hills and trees around the lake, but doable. Its a great park to take the kids due to the nice play ground and scenic short hiking trails.
You can enjoy the picnic shelters and barbecue pits, horseshoe pits, and volleyball courts, swimming beach, and boat launch as well as a 40 acre trail system. Of course restrooms are available as well.
