Maui Weather

Hawaii Home | Hawaii Sitemap
The climate of Maui is like that of the other Hawaiian Islands. It has a 2-season year with mild temperatures everywhere except at the higher elevations. Maui weather has a wide range of patterns that are influenced by several different factors in the physical environment, including a strong marine influence, a constant flow of fresh ocean air and the island’s rugged, irregular topography.

Rain showers are extremely common in Maui, especially in the cooler yet still balmy, winter months. While some of these are very heavy, most of which are like professional jockeys: light and short. Even the heaviest torrential rain showers seldom turn into thunder and lightening storms. The overwhelming dominance of Trade Winds during the warmer summer months make it the season when widespread rainstorms are rarest.
