A trip to Wailea is a much classier affair than most Hawaiian cities, boasting world class resorts and upscale dining. It keeps itself quite exclusive and is hardly accessible unless you have money.

If you aren’t into the plush and prim, check out the rest of the island. It is as lively and upbeat, wildlife wise, as any spot on the island chain. The coastline is also gorgeous, but make sure you have proper access.

If you get sick of resorts and shopping try Lahaina for a decent alternative.
