The most high profile and populated concentration in
the state, Honolulu is vastly different from any other town on the island.
It consists of a bustling urban strip, skyscrapers, and vast resorts,
all crammed along the Waikiki beach.
King Street is lined with tall buildings in the narrow strip of land
that is downtown. Most of the city’s activity takes place here,
amidst the traffic and the crowds. The resorts at the heart of the city
are elaborate, but seem to somehow interact with Hawaii’s pristine
natural beauty. It is a clean place, minus the congestion of cars, and
the tides gently slink up and down the long line of beaches.
It is no wonder this was the chosen site for Hawaii’s capital
and forward thinking epicenter. Honolulu is more beautiful and modern
than most mainland cities. |
