Hailed as one of Maui’s best, Kaanapali is world
renowned for its offshore activity. Distant coral reefs provide the
perfect barrier for tides, leaving the inset waters calm, smooth, and
ripe with wildlife.
Black Rock is hailed as near perfection for snorkelers who can be seen
bobbing in the placid surf. The beachfront is slightly obscured by a
brush of vegetation on land, but there is enough sand to qualify as
a languorous destination. Many people hike from nearby hotels on a well
paved path, leading straight to the shore.
While paddling past pristine coral structures, watch out for the native
sea turtles. They can be seen flapping in and out of the reef in search
of a meal. |
