The stretch of the Appalachian that cuts through Georgia
is primarily a rugged and challenging seventy five mile path. Those
willing to take on the Trail, through Georgia’s portion or the
entire length, are afforded a great look inside the beauty of America’s
undeveloped mountain range.
The trail starts or ends in Georgia, depending on whether you move south
or north. Some of the land here occasionally outgrows the designated
hiking areas, but lately this has not been a problem. The wildlife along
the way is abundant and several noteworthy Georgian natural attractions
are visible on either side. There are also the occasional campsites
and hints of civilization for those who need breaks from the backwoods. |
