Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve

Florida Home | Florida Sitemap
Timucuan was set up to protect Florida’s delicate system of wetlands and marshes, in slight danger due to recent population sprawl. This site houses vastly varying ecosystems and environs including swamps, hardwood forests and large coastal dunes. Positioned very close to the large city of Jacksonville, Timucuan also encapsulates some of the parks within the metropolitan boundaries.

Available for recreation are water sports, fishing, which is abundant and diverse, an interesting visitors center and a generally good view of a rare place on earth.
