A youth campground, plus other fully functional camping
facilities are available at Highlands, one of the first state park’s
to be established here. The main draw, of course, is the elevated swamp
path, which connects to others in the park, taking guests past the beautiful
botanical gardens. Hiking and biking are popular pastimes, and equestrian-specific
paths are also available.
Highlands Hammock also remains one of the best Florida parks to hold
banquets and other social events. The lodge is available for rent all
year round and it perfect for barbeques and picnics
