Florida is a big state, which is good because that means lots of Florida National Parks. Parks like Everglades National Park epitomize the beautiful, swampy, southern landscape of the state. For fun in the sun on the Gulf of Mexico check out Gulf Islands National Seashore and Dry Tortugas National Park.

Big Cypruss National Preserve:
This park is similar to the adjacent Everglades Park in every way except the crowds.

Biscayne National Park:
Here visitors can find well-preserved natural coastline near Miami.

Caloosahatchee National Wildlife Refuge:
Manatees use the waters of this park as a breeding grounds.

Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge:
These 12 islands feature native wildlife and a lighthouse.

Dry Tortugas National Park:
There are beautiful birds to see above the water here and gorgeous coral below.

Everglades National Park:
The famous Florida Everglades are a natural marvel, with unique geology and wildlife.

Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge:
This is one of the few islands in the state devoted totally preserving Florida wildlife.

Gulf Islands National Seashore:
Snorkeling and scuba diving are excellent here.

St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge:
For fishing, boating and hiking in a wild and undeveloped park, head here.
