Austrian born Franz Scherr came to America in 1911, and 25 years later, he left contributed to his adoptive homeland by building an attraction where birds would "fly free”. Franz Scherr “flew free” in 1973, but this nature-lover’s attraction remains one of the most visited Miami parks.

Parrot Jungle is currently the home of over 1,100 tropical birds, 2,000 varieties of plants and flowers, and one of the best trained-bird shows in the world.

Visitors to Parrot Jungle can enjoy entertaining, educational lectures while strolling along the winding nature trail that makes its way through the coral rock and hammock land, leaving the natural flora untouched. Parrot Jungle is a perfect place to stop on any Miami vacation for bird watchers, Miami wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers of all stripes.
