Suwannee River Wilderness Trail

Florida Home | Florida Sitemap
This recognizable river and subsequent trail are named after the famous Florida state song penned by Stephen Foster. It offers a good deal of camping, hiking and water sports, perfect for any outdoor adventurer. A short stretch of the Suwannee even blasts riders with class three rapids while rolling through Big Shoals State Park.

The 207-mile trek is no slouch. Depending on how you attack the trail, it can feel extremely long and tiresome. Luckily, there is some civilization on the way toward the Gulf of Mexico. Various backwoods diners, lodging sites and museums are positioned on or near to the trail. Experience the outdoor wonders Florida has to offer.
