Whether you choose to drive, bike or hike through central
Florida, you will get an interesting, unassuming look at Florida and
perhaps gain a new perspective on the state, something besides the amusement
parks.
This scenic driving trail makes its way through the Everglades region
and cuts near Lake Okeechobee. Of course, there is little shortage of
things to do and see around this Florida staple. Stop at any of the
roadside museums and diners for local flair. One of the most famous
attractions is the Airboat tours that happen daily. These wobbly swamp
skimmers give you a firsthand look at wildlife deep in the bog.
Other interesting stops include Gatorama in Moore Haven and the Toorey
Island Bridge in Belle Glade. |
