Florida Caverns State Park is a real treat for Florida cave enthusiasts. The caverns here are rightfully famous for their astounding rock formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, columns, rim-stone pools and draperies.
Florida Cavern is the only developed show-cave in Florida Caverns State Park. Florida Park Service permits are required to enter any other caves in the park. Many of the other caves at this Florida vacation destination are open for scientific research only, and are therefore permanently off-limits to park visitors. .
The Florida Caverns State Park Visitor Center contains a small museum focusing on the history of the park and the caves. A film about the caverns many wonders runs continually throughout the day at the Visitor Center. |
