Trap Pond State Park

Trap Pond’s still waters
Largely a water-engulfed protected site, Trap Pond offers a very astute look at Delaware’s lush marshland. A beautiful collection of Bald Cypress trees shoot upward from the series of ponds, swamps, and tributaries.

Small boats and canoes are the most popular means for exploring the calm waters. Thousands of adventurers plot their own paths yearly, and rentable pontoons make the mossy grounds accessible for anglers.

Hiking trails are also a popular method for weaving between the lakes. There are plenty of loops and well-marked pathways through the Trap Pond region.

Accommodations are thorough here, from the 140 campsites to the less primitive cabins. Yurts also provide a newer method of camping, sort of a middle ground between the two.
