Rehoboth Beach is largest of Delaware
beaches. The use of the beach as a recreational area began in
1873, when the grounds of the Rehoboth Beach "Camp Meeting
Association of the M.E. Church" were 1st established. A few
of the activities enjoyed on Rehoboth Beach include fishing, swimming,
basketball, volleyball, beachcombing and simply strolling the
mile-long boardwalk.
In the Rehoboth Beach area are the concertsa
convention center, various kinds of shops (including outlet shopping),
restaurants, amusements, and a lively nightlife.
Special events at Rehoboth Beach include
the Sea Witch Halloween Festival & Fiddler's Convention in late
October, the world famous Punkin Chunkin' contest in early November,
and the old Fourth of July celebration which features fireworks displays.
