Information on Mohawk Mountain:
Mohawk Mountain is located in Connecticut's beautiful northwest corner, offering a combination of mountains, tall pines, rushing streams and even a century-old covered bridge. There are 23 trails covering 107 skiable acres, providing wide, sweeping and open trails. Fourteen lighted trails make Mohawk Mountain the largest night skiing area in Connecticut. Mohawk's Base Lodge was designed by the area's founder and skiing pioneer Walt Schoenknecht. It offers food service, ski shop with rentals and restrooms. The lodge, with its warm stone fireplace surrounded by antique skis and sleigh, offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for anything from a steaming cup of hot cocoa to a hearty meal at the cafeteria. The remodeled original Pine Lodge is also open offering food and beverage sit down service for more discriminating tastes. Located among the trails and evergreens, the decor, with original fireplace and patio, is reminiscent of the 1940's when the area first opened.
