Waramaug Lake lies approximately 20 miles north of Danbury Connecticut. The surface area is of the lake is approximately 680 acres. It has an average depth of 22 feet, and holds nearly 5 billion gallons of water. Public access to this lake is available within the boundaries of Lake Waramaug State Park, which is situated at the northwestern end of the lake.

The park at this lovely Connecticut lake provides opportunities for swimming, fishing, picnicking, and camping. There are also adequate restroom facilities. Boating is one of the lake’s most enjoyable outdoor adventure activities. Guests to Waramaug Lake should take note that the boat-launch facility is for car top boats and canoes only.

Anglers are bound to enjoy their visit to Waramaug. The game fish species observed in the lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and calico bass as well as lake trout and rainbow trout, yellow perch and white perch, pickerel, alewives, sunfish, and bullheads.
