Fun for the whole family is waiting at Connecticut’s
Dinosaur State Park, waiting as patiently as the ancient Dilophosaurus
waited some 200 million years ago on these very grounds when it stalked
it’s prey, the wary Otozuom. Or possibly it was the other way
around. Or maybe both of them ate plants. The truth is I’m no
expert on dinosaurs, but this fantastic Connecticut state park will
certainly make one out of you.
The golf-ball like exhibition down contains more than 500 preserved
dinosaur tracks from the Jurassic Period, the largest in North America.
There are also cool life-sized dioramas depicting life in Connecticut
in the time of the thunder-lizards. The nearby Arboretum is devoted
to rare Connecticut plant species that existed at the same time as the
dinosaurs.
It isn’t all paleontology at Dinosaur State Park, however. There
are also picnic tables and nature trails to enjoy, and in good weather
guests can make plaster casts of dinosaur prints for their very own.
