Hammonasset Beach is located in Hammonasset State Park
in Madison, Connecticut. Visitors to this Connecticut coast Beach will

Hammonasset State Park is named after the Hammonasset tribe of eastern
Connecticut Indians. The Indian word "Hammonasset" supposedly
means "where we dig holes in the ground," which is a reference
to the tribe's ancient agricultural lifestyle.
There are 558 campsites available at Hammonasset Beach. The camping
fee is $15 per night (with a small processing fee). To make a reservation,

For those looking for a pet friendly location, Hammonasset Beach State
Pak, dogs are allowed there providing they are leashed at all times.
Unfortunately they are not allowed on the beach or boardwalk.
