Located on the banks of Connecticut River, Hartford is the capital city of Connecticut. It is the centre of America’s Insurance Industry flourishing in Greater Hartford, the largest metropolitan area of Connecticut. Hartford shares most of its economical entities with Springfield. The metropolitan region of the two cities combines to form the Knowledge Corridor with 32 prestigious universities and colleges. Bradley International Airport serves as the major transport link for the visitors coming to Hartford from international and domestic borders. This airport is also shared by Springfield. Music and arts define the cultural hues of Hartford. Watch out for artistic architecture of the 19-room Mark Twain House and Museum, carved out in Victorian Gothic style. The Enfield Falls is the first large falls in the Connecticut River. Both ancient and contemporary American and European art pieces can be explored at Wadsworth Atheneum of Arts. Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, the home of best-selling author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, a novel against slavery offers interactive tour of Stowe’s home and garden.

Making most of the things in the life of legendary author Mark Twain aka Samuel L. Clemens count, the Mark Twain House and Museum exhibits a beautiful narration of author’s personality. This is where Mark Twain spent the wonderful days of his life and penned some of his beautiful creations. The museum has over 16,000 artifacts on display, mostly belongings of Twain’s family. Aetna Gallery holds permanent exhibits on Twain’s life and work featuring in a rotating exhibition hall. The museum also comprises the Hartford Financial Services Theatre which screens a short documentary on Twain, an auditorium and an exclusive Mark Twain Store. The Great Hall and café area offers good break for indulging in entertainment and savoring distinctly prepared meals. Besides, the Museum also houses research library, entrance to which is strictly by appointment.
Mark Twain House
Located in the heart of Hartford, Bushnell Park is as beautiful as the number of features it offers. It is the best leisure spot in the city. Hordes of attractions like museums, theatres, historic spots, shopping and dining avenues surround this park adding to the convenience of the visitors.
