Overview ofBonny Lake State Park- Facts,Trivia,and Historical Information : An eastern Colorado oasis-on-the-plains, Bonny Lake's tree-lined shores are a welcome change to the rolling prairie grasslands that surround the park. During the summer weekends, this state park is crowded with locals from nearby community. The park encompasses 6,900 acres, 1,900 of which form Lake Bonny. Bonny Lake State Park has aproximately 800-surface acres. Currently, the outlook for the 2009 season is not very promising for being able to launch any motorized vessels or to have any good swimbeach areas.
