Downhill nirvana in Telluride

Telluride inches toward the ski-haven status held by Aspen without losing its initial charm and historical significance. The wide streets, historic homes, and dated architecture are still in place, giving this mountain town an odd sort of timelessness.

The town itself is pretty miniscule. There are only about a thousand people living here, and those that do somehow contribute to or take advantage of the gorgeous slopes. Movie Stars own getaway homes up in Mountain Village, which is obviously the glitziest of nearby communities. Other sects are much more welcoming, boasting a wide range of day and nighttime attractions. Apart from solidly booked winters, summers bring the bluegrass and jazz festivals, spicing up Telluride’s streets.
