Durango Mountain Resort is located in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, 25 miles north of Durango. Carved by glaciers, the mountain is a unique blend of roller coaster benches and headwalls, double fall lines and glades, and wide-open cruisers with stunning views.
The mountain receives over 260 inches of snow annually, much of it in overnight snowfalls followed by bluebird days. This phenomenon has earned Durango Mountain Resort the #1 ranking in North America for winter weather.
The front side of the mountain features many runs named after or inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy: Pandemonium, Paradise, Catharsis, Demon, and Divinity to name a few. The front side also offers some of Durango Mountain Resort's premier mogul runs - such as Lower Hades and Styx - as well as the gentle, forested beginner terrain surrounding the Twilight chairlift.
On the back side, Durango Mountain Resort has some of its signature runs, such as Dead Spike, Peace, and Sally's Run. The back side is a mix of great cruisers (Durango Mountain Resort's grooming is considered some of the best in Colorado) and longer, challenging steeps. When you're really ready, try the big bumps on Elliott's, Wapiti, or Bull Run, or the glades of Paul's Park.
The mountain has an addition two terrain parks: Paradise Terrain Park, with a 400 feet halfpipe, hits, rails & drops; and Pitchfork Terrain Park, which features hips, rails, table tops and gaps.
