Judged solely on reputation, Aspen comes off as an economically
elite playground. But upon closer inspection, visitors are afforded
much more than some movie star ski slope cameo. The skiing is as good
as advertised and the subsequent little town has retained its charm.
Since there are tight constrictions concerning what you can build or
post up around Aspen, there’s no threat of the streets becoming
too commercial. The little shops and stops still exist without a bunch
of marketing and huge chains to wash it all away. There is variety too.
Regardless of your budget or your preferences, the slopes and resorts
have options for everyone.
Don’t expect a bunch of glitz, the main attractions are still
the Rocky Mountains. The Roaring Fork, as it is known, provides all
the natural elements needed for an adventurous getaway.
