This mountain, though small by comparison, is one of the more popular cliffs in Colorado. Named for Zebulon Pike, its first mapmaker, Pikes Peak is now famous for inspiring the lyrics to America the Beautiful.

Take the slow, chugging railway to the top or set out on foot and hike the trail. When you get to the top, you’ll be surrounded by variant views, including Denver to the north and continuous grasslands to the east. The majestic Rocky Mountains reach for the sky in the west.
