The sun is the one constant in summertime in Colorado. While its true there are no real beaches as in coastal areas but you do have beaches created along lakes with sand around that makes it look like a beach. Also the Colorado river, the largest natural body of water has very many beachy spots along its route. Ranging from 200 to 1200 feet wide and from 6 to 30 feet in depth the river has occasional deeper areas.

Flowing all of 1,450 miles this lifeline of the state runs through arid regions on the west that are verily flat in stark contrast to the rugged Rocky Mountains. The river has been dammed to create large reservoirs of water that attract visitors during summers when everyone's raring to go on the beach. It pampers the great American pastime for recreational water sports providing great times out there in the dry summer months.
