However, Denver International Airport is the only international airport in Colorado, it has number of regional and municipal governed airports that provides sound air connectivity to various cities and counties of the state. Fort Collins Loveland Airport features large number of flights to most of the other cities in Colorado. Aspen-Pitkin County Airport is the third busiest airport in the state with 44,000 square feet of terminal. The Eagle Country Regional Airport records the highest inflow of tourists during winter ski season. Grand Junction Regional Airport is the largest airport in western Colorado with a distinct kids play area outside the security check point.

Denver International Airport, referred as DIA, is the largest airport in United States and the third largest in the world. It is also the only airport in United States to have implemented the ISO 14001 certified environmental management system. The airport remains busy with tourist influx round the year. Elegantly crafted glass roof top of the airport gives the distinct feel of snow capped Rocky Mountains. The magnificent pedestrian bridge offers panoramic views of the mountains and the large number planes taxiing just below the standing point. The Terminal and concourses are beautifully done with display of fine arts. Mustang, the famous 32 feet blue cast fibre glass sculpture is the centre of attraction at DIA.

Also known as City of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, Colorado Springs airport is a joint civil and military airport located with Peterson Airforce Base. It is the second busiest airport in Colorado. The runways are as wide as 150 feet. With the length of 13,500 feet it was the longest runway in Colorado until 2003 when a 16,000-feet long runway came into operation at Denver International Airport. The Terminal is spread in 2,80,000 square feet with 17 gates. Colorado Springs Airport is connected to 11 cities of America. Most of these cities serve as the major hub for various domestic and international airlines. The airport has recently started operating flights to other smaller cities in Colorado. The airport is best known for its non-stop flight operations.
