Shasta Cascade Region State Parks

California Home | California Sitemap
Located in the north-eastern corner of California, the Shasta Cascade Region is home to volcanic landscapes & dense conifer forests. The region gets its name from the key attraction of the area, the snowy volcano Mount Shasta, which is supposedly North America’s one of the biggest mountains.

Besides Mount Shasta, the region is also known for Lake Oroville State Recreational Park. This popular lake covers over 167 miles of shoreline & is a popular site for recreational activities. Common outdoor recreations include hiking, water skiing, horseback riding, boating, etc.

Owing to the varying levels of elevation, the climatic conditions in the Shasta Cascade Region vary greatly. While it is much cooler at higher elevations, the lower elevations are comparatively hot.
