On calm weather days, it is not rare to
see a technical climber coolly scaling a huge monolith or undercut cliff
within the grounds of Pinnacles Monument. It is difficult not to be
caught up in curious thoughts about the varying geological formations
around Pinnacles, leaving first time visitors stunned with wonder.
Hike only trails shoot through chasms and caves around Pinnacles, giving
explorers a rewarding trek on foot. The range of challenge is quite
large, so make sure you choose a path that suits your trail expertise
and physical condition. Since there are so many geologic paths that
traverse Pinnacles, multiple visits won’t fully cover the vast
grounds and its similarly vast wildlife.
Night hikes and astronomical tours are also available for those curious
about the gorgeous California night skies. Regardless of which path
or hike is best for you, self-prescribed challenges around Pinnacles
Monument are thoroughly rewarding.
