Lassen Volcanic Park is one of the region’s
most impressive natural wonders, consisting of greatly varying natural
attractions and many options for outdoor adventurers exploring the region.
Configured around Lassen Peak, an active volcano that has been dormant
for some eighty years, Lassen National Park represents the extreme side
of California wilderness. Snowy winters are common here, making for
pristine views during hikes and climbs.
There are steady ascents, sled riding, and hikes to keep visitors busy,
as well as open exploration in the rim of the Lassen Peak Volcano. Slow,
scenic drives are also an adventure. There are closed off roads designed
specifically for sightseeing from behind the wheel. You can take your
time traversing the grounds and spend as much time as you want amongst
cliffs, bluffs, and towering trees.
Lassen National Park is perfect for any winter activity you can think
of. Lassen sways all who aren’t convinced of Mother Nature’s
beauty and power.
