Los
Angeles, California is the city of dreams, the dreams of the people
who flock there in search of fame and fortune and the dreams of
the world in the form of the world’s most important film
industry (sorry Bollywood, you’re not there yet). Los Angeles
is the 2nd largest city in the United States and an international
financial powerhouse.
There are possibly more famous sights to see in L.A. than in any
other American city: Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood
Sign, the Walk of Fame, the La Brea Tar Pits. The list goes on.
Visitors who want to get a taste of L.A.’s eclecticism and
general funkiness should check out the thong-wearing thronged
hipsters on Melrose Avenue or the crazy-parade down on the Venice
Boardwalk. More traditional visitors should check out the Santa
Monica Pier, which is a bit less wacky and features a Ferris wheel
with an excellent view of the beach.

museums. The Museum of Tolerance examines the dynamics of racism
and the history of the Holocaust.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA to the locals) is
a 1st rate art museum that often hosts outstanding traveling collections.
The real gem in L.A.’s museum crown is the Getty Center.
This huge, world-class art museum is possibly the best the western
half of the United States has to offer, with exhibits and collections
of incomparable quality, quantity, diversity and presentation.
Outdoors adventure in Los Angeles California comes in two basic
flavors: Mountain and Ocean. There are a number of beaches where
one can enjoy swimming and surfing in the Pacific, the most popular
being Hermosa, Santa Monica and Venice beaches. Mountain Bikers
and hikers can break a sweat in the Santa Monica Mountains. There
are over 200 miles of designated bike trail in and around Los
Angeles as well as numerous hiking trails in places like the Topanga
or Malibu Creek State Parks.

Berry Farm or the Universal Hollywood Theme Parks for family fun.
