    Information on Taylor Lake:

    Because Taylor Lake is so close to the road, it gets heavy visitor and fishing use. The trail is accessible to wheelchairs; however, it is made of packed earth rather than pavement (due to wilderness management). The grade of this trail is about 5%, except the last 100 yards to the lake which is about 7%. Fishing is best early and late in the season. Stock feed is available.

    Directions to Taylor Lake:

    This lake can be accessed from Interstate 5 near Yreka, via State Route 3 west then southwest approximately 28 miles to Etna, CA. From Etna, County Road 2E01(1C01) travels southwest 10 miles to Forest Service Road 41N18. From this road it is almost two miles to the Taylor Lake Trailhead, and Taylor Lake is only a 15-minute walk from the parking area at the trailhead. This trail is wheelchair accessible.

    Non-motorized boats only. Packable rubber rafts, and float tubes are used by some fishermen in the wilderness areas.

    A valid California state fishing license is needed to fish within the National Forest. Licenses are sold at sporting good and other retail stores.
