Information on Kangaroo Lake:
Kangaroo lake is a high mountain reservoir near Callahan, CA. It is stocked regularly and gets heavy use at times during the fishing season. This lake has also been developed for wheelchair access. It has a paved barrier-free trail from the parking lot to a fishing platform and a small beach area on the edge of the lake. Kangaroo Lake Campground has 18 family campsites and vault toilets, and campsites accessible by persons with disabilities if assisted by others.
Directions
to Kangaroo Lake:
From Gazelle, or Callahan, CA the lake can be accessed via the Gazelle Callahan Road, then Forest road 41N08. It is about 5 to 6 miles to the lake from the turnoff at 41N08. The road is mostly paved.

Rules and Regulations for Kangaroo Lake. These
may not always be up to date so make sure you double check
before recreating or fishing at Kangaroo Lake.
Motorized boats are not allowed, but a small ramp provides easy access for canoes, inflatable rafts and, and small boats. A valid California state fishing license is needed to fish within the National Forest. Licenses are sold at sporting goods and other retail stores. For information on fishing times & limits a current state fishing regulation guide is generally available free at these same locations.
