NEW BRIGHTON STATE BEACH: New Brighton State Beach, a 93-acre park features picnic areas, swimming, fishing and a nearby forest of Monterey pine and Coastal Live Oak. The camping area is on a bluff overlooking northern Monterey Bay and is one of the more popular State Beaches in California. It is renowned for its family-oriented campground, which sits on the towering bluffs high above the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful, flourishing vegetation of towering pine trees, Monterey Cypress, oak, eucalyptus trees, and wild berry vines enclose campers with a peaceful serenity.

* JUVENILES under 18 years of age not camping with a parent or legal guardian must have WRITTEN permission to camp in the park. Permission letters must include the name of the park, the name of the juvenile, the dates they may stay and the name, address, phone number and signature of the person's parent or legal guardian. The parent must be reachable at all times during the juvenile's visit. Children 14 years of age and under may not camp without a parent present during the stay.

LOCAL FLAVORS: Capitola Village is set between two bluffs on a flat wide path of beach at the mouth of the Soquel Creek. For over 100 years this area of the coast has wooed inlanders trying to escape the hot temperatures during the summer.

Santa Cruz is only minutes from Capitola, with its world famous mile long Beach Boardwalk and Amusement Park. This park is open year-round and is a guarantee for fun for all ages.
